Facing the fear
Having a professional qualification, I found it easy to use it and work as an employed person, part-time, while developing my own business. Even an NVQ in business start up, obtained 3 years ago, did not allow me to gain enough courage to strike out 100% as a self-employed person.
Today, however, I realised that the only way to allow Equanalta to flourish and touch the maximum number of people, is to resist the temptation to go for the safe option.
Alfie, my border collie, brings his ball for me to throw it as I sit in the garden writing on my lap top. Alfie is only 6 months old, but he seems to have been with me for ever. He is reminding me that life is about happiness and expansion – and I really am going to “Feel the fear and do it anyway”.
In my life coaching workshops I always mention Susan Jeffers’ book. I have it on tape and find it very inspirational. I hope that my book on self esteem can have the same effect on people lacking self esteem as Susan has had on people experiencing fear!
Following my typing frenzy, it is time to go to “body combat” at the local gym, walking past old oak, my lovely 600 year old oak tree where I sit and meditate in the mornings.
All of you out there who wonder whether to strike out and follow your heart’s desire: just do it!
